Restores Peak Performance in Small Engines and Powersports Equipment

Degraded fuel presents a major maintenance issue in small engines and powersports equipment. It can form varnish, gum and insoluble debris that clog carburetors, fuel injectors and fuel filters. Carbon buildup can form on the tops of pistons that leads to pre-ignition, rough idling and poor throttle response. Fuel-related problems are only expected to intensify in the coming years as the ethanol content in pump gasoline continues to increase.

AMSOIL Quickshot SE (AQS) is a premium fuel additive formulated to thoroughly clean and restore
peak performance in small engine and powersports equipment fuel systems. It also stabilizes fuel between uses and during short-term storage periods. Its revolutionary technology focuses on three major fuel-related issues plaguing small engines and powersports equipment:
ethanol, water and dirty pump gas.

Ethanol in fuel has a tendency to absorb water and separate from the gasoline, sinking to the bottom of the gas tank, where it quickly degrades and creates gum, varnish and other insoluble debris that can plug fuel fl ow passages and negatively affect engine performance. When this ethanol/water mixture is pulled into the engine, it creates a lean burn situation that increases combustion chamber temperatures and can lead to engine damage. AMSOIL Quickshot SE is designed to keep water dispersed throughout the Quickshot SE tank, moving it out as a normal part of operation and decreasing the chance of ethanol separating from the gasoline. Quickshot SE was tested in fuel containing 10 percent ethanol. Controlled plugging of injectors showed a 70 percent flow improvement, while oxidation stability improved 44 percent over untreated fuel.

Quickshot SE is recommended for use in all two- and four-stroke gasoline-powered engines, including motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, personal watercraft, ATVs, edgers, tillers, mowers, snowblowers, chainsaws, generators and farm and construction equipment.

AMSOIL "Fabulous Five" 2-Cycle Oils provide second-to-none
Protection and Performance in modern Two-Cycle Equipment

Two-cycle engines remain the workhorses in recreational equipment, including outboard motors, motorcycles, snowmobiles and personal watercraft, as well as in lawn and garden applications like lawn mowers and weed eaters. Design changes over recent years have included direct fuel injection engines, in which fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber, and exhaust power valves, which improve combustion efficiency at varying RPM. These design changes have allowed two-cycle engine manufacturers to effectively reduce emissions, improve fuel efficiency and decrease oil consumption. Today's two-cycle motors of all types require specialized oil technology to deliver maximum engine protection,
dependable operation and long service life

As the leader in two-cycle oil technology, AMSOIL has performed extensive research in developing a new line of revolutionary, specialized oils called the Fabulous Five. INTERCEPTOR Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil (AIT) was the first new oil to be introduced. It is primarily recommended as an injector oil or at a 50:1 mix ratio in carbureted, electronic fuel injected (EFI) and direct fuel injected (DFI) snowmobiles, personal watercraft, motorcycles and ATV's. Formulated with wax-free premium quality synthetic esters and a specialized additive package, INTERCEPTOR is designed to address the exhaust valve sticking problems associated with certain snowmobile models.

AMSOIL HP Injector Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil (HPI), DOMINATOR Synthetic 2-Cycle Racing Oil (TDR) and Saber Professional (ATP) and Saber Outboard (ATO) Synthetic 100:1 Pre-Mix 2-Cycle Oils complete the Fabulous Five lineup. The application chart below ranks each oil's performance in common two-cycle applications.

AMSOIL Saber Professional (ATP) and Saber Outboard (ATO) Synthetic 100:1 Pre-Mix 2-Cycle Oils are formulated with exclusive AMSOIL synthetic base oils and premium additives. Designed for lean mix ratios in two-cycle motors, Saber 2-Cycle Oils have excellent lubricity and cleanliness properties to control friction and help prevent wear, plug fouling, ring sticking and exhaust port blocking. AMSOIL Synthetic 100:1 2-Cycle Oils have been providing improved performance and protection in two-cycle motors since 1973.

Saber Professional is formulated with high-temperature detergent additives to help prevent hard carbon deposits from forming in these hot-operating motors. Saber Professional is “smokeless” and delivers fewer emissions at 100:1 mix ratios than oils mixed at 50:1. Equipment operators subjected to smoke and fumes will benefit from these low emission properties. Because one mix ratio satisfies multiple pieces of equipment, Saber Professional eliminates mix ratio confusion. Saber Professional is recommended for pre-mix
where ISO-L-EGD, JASO FD or API TC is specified.

AMSOIL Saber 100:1 2-Cycle Oils are recommended for 100:1 mix ratios in normal service. Richer mix ratios may be used where desired.

2.6 oz. per 1 U.S. gallon = 50:1

8 oz. per 5 U.S. gallons = 80:1

1.3 oz. per 1 U.S. gallon = 100:1

8 oz. per 6 U.S. gallons = 100:1

AMSOIL Synthetic MCV 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil is recommended for air or liquid cooled 4-stroke engines. It meets SAE 90, API GL-1 gear oil requirements and is recommended for transmissions and primary chaincases. AMSOIL MCV is recommended for Harley Davidson®, Buell®, KTM, Ducati®, Aprilia®, BMW®, Triumph® and other motorcycles where 15W-50 or 20W-50 engine oils or SAE 90, GL-1 gear oils are used. Not recommended where an API GL-4 or GL-5 gear oil is required.

SERVICE LIFE
Recommended for use up to twice the motorcycle manufacturer change interval (miles/hours) or one year, whichever comes first, in engines, transmissions and primary chaincases. For Big Twin Harley-Davidson transmissions only, follow the Harley-Davidson recommended drain interval for synthetic oil of up to 20,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. When using an engine filter other than AMSOIL Ea, change the filter at standard intervals.

Viscosity Shear Stability (ASTM D-6278)

An oil's viscosity can also be affected through normal use. Mechanical activity creates shearing forces that can cause an oil to thin out, reducing its load carrying ability. Engines operating at high RPMs and those that share a common oil sump with the transmission are particularly subject to high shear rates. Gear sets found in the transmissions are the leading cause of shear-induced viscosity loss in motorcycle applications.

The ASTM D-6278 test methodology is used to determine oil shear stability. First an oil's initial viscosity is determined. The oil is then subjected to shearing forces at 30 cycle intervals. Viscosity measurements are taken at the end of 30, 90 and 120 cycles and compared to the oil's initial viscosity. The oils that perform well are those that show little or no viscosity change. Oils demonstrating a significant loss in viscosity would be subject to concern. The flatter the line on the chart above, the greater the shear stability of the oil.
