Why Use OE Synthetic Motor Oil?

AMSOIL OE Synthetic Motor Oils are designed as an entry-level product for customers who want to move up to synthetic quality, but won’t pay a significantly higher price than a conventional product and were not initially interested in extending their drain intervals.

AMSOIL OE Synthetic Motor Oils are specially engineered for today’s hot-running engines. The advanced synthetic technology helps resist the high-temperature degradation that leads to performance-robbing sludge, deposit build-up and viscosity breakdown. OE Synthetic Oils maintain a stable and durable lubricant film between moving engine components.

By working to prevent metal-to-metal contact, AMSOIL OE Motor Oils help reduce friction, improve fuel efficiency and provide maximum protection against wear. And because OE Motor Oils are synthetic, they provide outstanding low temperature fluidity for fast, dependable starts and immediate startup protection. With AMSOIL OE Synthetic Motor Oil, engines stay cleaner, perform better and last longer.

Its unique synthetic formulation and long-drain additive system are very stable, resisting oxidation and neutralizing acids. AMSOIL Motor Oils are designed to deliver the best possible engine protection, cleanliness and performance over extended drain intervals, reducing vehicle maintenance and waste oil disposal costs.

Maximizes Fuel Economy

AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil is designed to maximize energy efficiency for improved fuel economy. Unlike conventional oils, its uniform molecular structure helps it flow more freely and reduce friction between metal surfaces. Anti-friction additives are included to further improve energy efficiency.

Reduces Engine Wear

AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils provides outstanding anti-wear protection. It has excellent viscosity film strength to separate metal surfaces and robust anti-wear additives to further reduce wear in metal-to-metal contact regions for improved engine life.

Reduces Oil Consumption and Emissions

Volatility (burn-off) occurs when oil gets hot, causing high oil consumption and emissions. AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils have the lowest volatility rate of the oils tested, making it the best at controlling volatility-related oil consumption and emissions (see chart below).

Maximizes Fuel Economy, Reduces Oil Consumption and Emissions

The NOACK Volatility Test determines the evaporation loss of lubricants in high temperature service. The more motor oils vaporize, the thicker and heavier they become, contributing to poor circulation, reduced fuel economy and increased oil consumption, wear and emissions.

AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil resists high temperature volatilization (evaporation) better than other motor oils. AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil maintains peak fuel efficiency and reduces oil consumption and emissions.

As seen in the graph below, AMSOIL 10W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil (ATM) easily falls below the maximum 15 percent volatilization rate dictated by the API SM motor oil specification.

noacktest.jpg

NOACK Volatility (ASTM D-5800)

AMSOIL was the first motor oil company in North America to use the NOACK volatility test to measure motor oil quality and performance. Although competing motor oil companies initially paid no attention to NOACK results, the test has since become a critical measurement tool throughout the industry.

The NOACK Volatility Test determines the evaporation loss of lubricants in high temperature service. The more motor oils vaporize, the thicker and heavier they become, contributing to poor circulation, reduced fuel economy and increased oil consumption, wear and emissions. A maximum of 15 percent evaporation loss is allowable to meet API SL and ILSAC GF-3 specifications. As shown in the graph, AMSOIL 10W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil outperformed its nearest competitor by over 30 percent.

The extremely low volatility allows it to maintain its superior protective and performance qualities throughout extended drain intervals, even when faced with severe operating temperatures. In addition, oil consumption and emissions are minimized and fuel efficiency is maximized.

Injen/Amsoil Intake System Design
Air intake systems serve several important functions. Primarily, they are used to increase the amount of oxygen available to the engine and reduce air turbulence increasing power. Because cool air has greater density than hot air, aftermarket intakes improve combustion of fuel by capturing cooler air from outside the engine compartment. In addition, an aftermarket air intake system increases the diameter of the intake as compared to the original equipment, increasing air flow into the engine and making more oxygen available during the combustion process.

By designing a more direct route for the air entering the engine, as well as a smoother interior surface for the intake, air resistance is reduced and air flow is increased. To protect the engine from damaging dirt, cold air intakes are also equipped with filters. Air intake systems can improve gas mileage and increase performance, and they also add a sleek, custom look to a vehicle.
